I’ve been so busy with my Art a Day project I haven’t had a chance to post much finished work, so I thought I’d put this one up.
This is a special piece for a few friends of mine.
The request was for me to draw a Rom Fortune teller.
Lately, I’ve been working with ink, and doing black and white as opposed to a lot of color, so I really got to explore some fine detail work in pen, which I truly enjoyed.
I’m actually thinking about taking this style and turning it into an animation (eventually…)
Hey everyone! So I’ve decided to switch things up a bit and not include the time it took to draw the pictures (just because it doesn’t seem relevant anymore). I’ve learned that I cannot, due to my own creative process, other projects, or work, sit down in one setting and draw a picture. That being said, all the pictures still will be drawn in a 24 hour period every day until sometime in September.
If anyone really wants me to include times I will, but for now I think I’ll just write the date and title of my little doodles.
And that makes another notebook full of drawings! Now to book 3…
This week’s experiment was all about fairy tales (the original, super dark versions) and drawing in pen. My friends graciously let me use their images in this week’s drawings.
This was kind of a blast from the past for me. I used to draw stuff in pen like this all the time growing up – little doodles with a ton of tiny details. It really made me happy to be doing this again. And it inspired some new work, which I’ll post in another blog when I’ve finished it.
