Oh, week 4. You started out so interesting and then just fell apart.
I met with an artist friend of mine early on in the week, and I got to see some of his artwork which was truly amazing (shout out to Doug Shafer. His work is awesome!- http://www.doug-shafer.com/art/)
He’s added Calligraphy to some of his work and I was looking at some of my Grandfather’s books from when he was a kid (really REALLY non-PC kid’s stories and history books, which are freaking hilarious to read now). So this week was inspired by words and illustration.
My life is getting more hectic with new and exciting art projects, but my will is still strong. So here ya go, week 4:
So, as an aside, I just have to say that this week it got very hard to concentrate on my drawings. Usually I listen to people critiquing or playing video games to help me work (don’t ask me why; I don’t understand my motivations fully). But I discovered Game Grumps this week and I was laughing so much I could barely draw. Lesson learned. I get to watch videos AFTER I finish drawing, not during, or else nothing gets done.
See y’all next week.
Alright, week three! I had a lot of inspiration this week and I have to give credit where credit is due. I was listening to a lot of Led Zeppelin this week and got to thinking about their awesome album art and posters. That, and a prompt from one of my friends, inspired me to draw the four seasons personified. I didn’t mean to have a theme, it just sort of happened that way as the week progressed.
This is the first week I carried my drawing pad around with me, as this was a busier week and I had to hurry up and draw whenever I could find time. I ended up drawing on the bus a lot, which made me let go of any mistakes I made (public transportation isn’t the smoothest of rides). I almost want to keep track of where I’m drawing things now, as each picture has an interesting story behind it (besides the people who inspired them).
So here’s to week three. I actually like most of what I did this week, unlike last week. Check it out, and as always, feel free to give me suggestions if there’s something you’d like to see me draw.
Well, it’s week two and my will is strong (I actually kept my word and drew a picture a day). However, this week was more difficult and I’m not really impressed with my drawings. I had a busy work week and I think it shows.
Oh well, it’s all part of the learning process.
So here you go, this week’s round of drawings! As always, feel free to give me ideas if there’s something you’d like to see me sketch.
Not that I want to complain, but I’m just going to say that this project makes me very tired. Not in a “I’m never going to draw again!” kind of way, but in a “Oh crap, I have to finish this before I go to sleep” kind of way. So I’m suffering from a slight lack of sleep, but I’m looking forward to next week’s round of pictures.
Oh, and feel free to check out last week’s round of artwork:
